VMC team leaders

for Prajapatham

Project officer of the urban community development Ajay Kumar, deputy commissioner (revenue) M. Vara Prasad and veterinary assistant surgeon Z. Srinivasa Rao have been appointed team leaders of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) for the ongoing `Prajapatham' programme.

These leaders will visit Vijayawada east, west and Kankipadu Assembly constituencies to study problems such as supply of drinking water, maintenance of sanitation and public health.

Death condoled

Sri Ramamohana Pustaka Bhandagaram convened a meeting to condole the death of litterateur Viswanatha Pavani Sastry on its premises on Saturday. President of the Bhandagaram Piratla Venkateswarlu presided over the meeting.

Proprietor of Vuma Holiday Inn Kanduri Uma Maheswarudu, vice-president of the Bhandagaram Jhansi Lakshmi, writers Jandhyala Mahati Sankar, and Palaparthi Syamalananda Prasad recalled their association with late Pavani Sastry.

Birth centenary

Sri Guruji Satajayanthi Pranta Samithi on Sunday observed the birth centenary of Madhavarao Sadasivarao Golwalkor, second sangh chalak of the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS), at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government College for Music and Dance.

Secretary of the Federation of All India Petroleum Traders M. Narayana Prasad and president of the Satajayanthi Sabha A.V. Appa Rao were present.

Relic in mosque

The holy relic of Prophet Hazrath Mohammed is housed in special room of Jumma Masjid wakf. People can visit the Masjid from 4.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Women can visit the Masjid on Wednesday.

Workshop

Markstrat Human Resources Development Institute will conduct a workshop on interview skills and memory in the city from April 14 to 16. The workshop will be useful for Intermediate students who are preparing for entrance tests like EAMCET.
