Mysore: Unseeded A. Veerabhadran of Tamil Nadu registered an upset win over fourth seeded S. Raghavendra 9-4 (best of 17 games), and entered the pre-quarterfinals in the boys under-14 singles of the AITA Talent Series tennis tournament for juniors (U-12, U-14 & U-16), boys and girls, conducted by the Inner Wheel Club of Mysore Central and MTC at MTC courts here on Monday. In the other minor upset, wild card entrant M.D. Akash of Karnataka registered a upset win over sixth seeded state-mate Vikram Naidu 9-5 and entered the last sixteen stage in the Boys under-14 section. Top-seeded C.M. Kiran and second-seeded Chirag S Igoor (both of Karnataka) sailed into the pre-quarters with easy wins over their respective rivals. In the boys under-12 singles first round unseeded Karnataka lad Rahul Adhikari registered an upset 8-4 win over second-seeded Dhruv Balakrishnan (AP) and sailed into the pre-quarterfinals. Top seeded Rishab (AP) and second seeded Sourabh Sachdeva (AP) won their respective matches with ease to enter the next round. In the boys' under-16 singles, top-seeded Vibhav Iyengar, second-seeded M.D. Shreyas and third seeded C.M. Kiran won their first round matches comfortably to enter the last sixteen stage. In the girls under-12 singles first round, Preethi Ujjaini, V. Keerthana, Akshatha Ananth and Dhruthi won their respective matches to enter round two.
