SBI open today to clear backlog

Mumbai: Despite a public holiday, the State Bank of India's entire branch network will operate on Tuesday in an attempt to restore normalcy in operations disrupted for a week by the indefinite strike by its employees over pension revision issue.

The SBI's operation in the country is divided into 14 circles. is a public holiday in eight circles. "The employees and officers of the bank all over the country would put in two extended hours in work," a bank official said. "The employees and officers have decided to work even tomorrow to clear the backlog even though it's a holiday in eight circles of the country," SBI sources said. — PTI
