Asianet is celebrating this Vishu with a host of new and novel programmes. Titled, `Vishu Kazhcha,' the programmes are sure to bring home to Malayalis across the world, the sweet memories and nostalgia of yesteryears when people used to wait eagerly all year to celebrate Vishu, the festival of prosperity and plenty. Vishu songs by cine star Mahathi will be followed by Vishu forecast by Kanippayyoor Krishnan Namboothiripad. A tele-film, `Kanikkonna Poothapol,' will be telecast on the day. Cine star Meera Jasmine recollects her memories of Vishu celebrations and also discusses her new movie, `Rasathanthram' in the morning show, `Suprabhatham'. The other programmes in the day include comedy skits and a special music programme in which Vidhu Prathap, Rimi Tomy, Sheela Mani, Pradeep Babu and many others will participate. The Mohanlal-starrer `Vamanapuram Bus route' will be shown on the mini-screen for the first time through Asianet on Vishu morning, at 9.30 a.m. Another movie in the offing on the day is `Vellinakshathram,' which will be telecast at 1.30 p.m. The Ujala Asianet Film Award nite will be telecast at 11.05 p.m. on Vishu day. Asianet Plus too is not far behind in welcoming Vishu with good spirits and cheer. This being the first Vishu celebrations of the new channel, the special programmes for the day will start off with a music programme in which many best-loved songs in Malayalam would be sung by several up-and-coming artistes. This will be followed by the tele film, `Vishukkani,' a live chat show, music programme by S. P. Balasubramaniam and a Vishu special music programme, `Hridayaragam.' Many famous personalities will come on a show to talk about their favourite songs. An interview with the prominent Bollywood singer and star, Sonu Nigam, would be one of the main attractions on the channel. Renowned composer A. R. Rehman will also feature in one of the music programmes to be telecast on the day.
