HUBLI: S.S. Joshi, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and Additional Chief Rajbhasha Adhikari of Hubli Division, South Western Railway (SWR), has said that the implementation of Hindi in the offices of the SWR in Hubli division is satisfactory. Inaugurating a "Hindi exhibition" as part of "Rajbhasha Saptah Samaroh" organised by the Rajbhasha Vibhag of Hubli division here recently, he stressed the need to implement Hindi in all departments and use it in official communication. Mr. Joshi called upon officers and workers to use Hindi while making notes, drafting and correspondence. He also asked them to acquaint themselves with computers. T.S. Kattimani, Professor, Hindi Department, Karnatak University, said Hindi is a link language with which people can communicate with one another. He said Railways ranks first among the Union Government departments in implementing Hindi. G.P. Kosta, Mukhya Rajbhasha Adhikari and Chief Bridge Engineer, SWR, spoke. V.K. Wankhede, Rajbhasha Adhikari of Hubli division, presented the annual report on the implementation of Hindi in the division. He said 44 officers and 288 employees, who did exemplary work in Hindi, were honoured with merit certificates and cash awards this year. As many as 24 employees from the division were honoured with cash awards by the Home Ministry for passing Hindi examination with good marks, he said. A cultural programme was organised on the occasion. Sandhya Kulkarni, Rajbhasha Superintendent, Hubli division, proposed a vote of thanks.
