`Curb crime, not eateries'

Will the order to shut down `thattukadas' and bunk shops by 11 p.m. arrest the increase in crime rate in the city?

The order issued by the police was recently challenged in the High Court. The police took the stand that wayside joints were the rendezvous of criminals where they hatched their plan. The Court, though it upheld the police instruction, stressed the need for considering the instructions de novo at appropriate time.
