Krishnagiri: As many as 25 villagers from Pazhayapet were admitted to the Krishnagiri Government Hospital on Tuesday following a viral disease in the area. A medical team has been rushed to the area to provide treatment. Since Monday villagers from Pazhayapet have been approaching the Krishnagiri Government Hospital for giddiness and excruciating body pain.
Boiled water
The villagers have been admitted to the hospital and administered drips. Water contamination is said to be the reason behind the viral outbreak. According to hospital sources, a team of doctors and paramedical staff has been stationed in the area to handle any emergency situation and steps have already been initiated to supply boiled water.
Preventive measures
In spite of various preventive measures taken, defecation at open areas and collection of water from contaminated sources have been a matter of grave concern.
