Home, office furniture fair from April 20

Companies from China, Singapore, Italy and Thailand to participate

CHENNAI: Setting up a new home? Looking for sleek furniture for your new office space? Zak Interior-Exterior international furniture fair is being organised from April 20 to 23 at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam.

Addressing a press conference, Syed Zakir Ahmed, Managing Director of Zak Trade Fairs & Exhibitions, said that over 150 companies would be participating in the sixth edition of the fair in Chennai.

Besides leading companies in India, 16 companies from countries such as Korea, China, Singapore, Italy, Australia and Thailand will participate. The array of products on sale will include home furnishings, office furniture, modular kitchens, handicraft items and sanitary ware and tiles. The Central Cottage Industries Corporation India, the event's main sponsor, will showcase rare handicraft pieces.

The highlight will be the depiction of the Sivapuranam on sandalwood, costing Rs.6 lakh. Automated washbasins, fully automatic toilets and a whole range of false ceilings and wall panelling models will also be on sale. The exhibition will be inaugurated on April 20 at 10 a.m. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on all four days.
