A PROCESSION FOR PEACE: Muslims taking out a procession to mark Id-Milad in Gulbarga on Tuesday.
GULBARGA: Id-Milad was celebrated with religious fervour and pomp by Muslims in the city on Tuesday. They observed it as a world peace day. Dressed in their best, Muslims converged at the Muslim Chowk in the city to release a booklet on the contribution and message of Prophet Muhammed. They took out a procession and organised an all-religious rally at the National College Grounds. The former Minister Qamar-ul-Islam and Superintendent of Police K. Ramachandra Rao were prominent among those who participated in the function to mark the release of the booklet brought out by the Markji Seerath Committee. The committee has been observing Id-Milad, the birthday of the Prophet, as world peace day for the last 27 years.
