Rajahmundry: Sex workers, under the banner of Godavari Mahila Samakhya and `Naari Sakshyam', have demanded statute for their `profession' (flesh trade) and welcomed DGP Swaranjit Sen's statement to issue licences. Speaking to reporters here in Press Club on Tuesday the members of the women's organization, Kondamma, Radha Rani and others said that they were facing humiliation and discrimination in society as they were forced to go into this trade. Radha Rani said that they were facing torture from police, goons and others while doing their activities and carrying social stigma as sex workers. She said that they were in the forefront in telling safe sex practices to the people who visits them and fighting against girl trafficking and HIV/AIDS.
