Forum wants uranium project scrapped

Staff Reporter

KADAPA: Uranium Vyatireka Porata Samithi leaders on Tuesday reiterated their resolve to resist the proposed uranium project in Vemula mandal.

Addressing a press conference here, samithi leaders B. Narayana, G. Obulesu, P. Siva Reddy and B. Rajasekhara Rahul, demanded that Kadapa MP Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy strive to get the project proposal dropped. Recalling that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had opposed uranium project proposals in 2003, they urged the MP to examine why the Dr. Reddy was keen on the project now.
