BANGALORE: Dell on Tuesday unveiled its new Precision M 90 mobile computer, the industry's first solution to move high-end, number-crunching applications like computer aided design (CAD) and 2-D, 3-D graphic design from the desktop to the laptop. With 512 megabytes of dedicated memory to fuel an nVidia graphics card and the latest Intel dual core processor chip, the M 90 comes with a 17 inch wide screen and the ability to run any of the industry-leading engineering and graphics softwares like AutoCAD, ProEngineer, Unigraphics or Maya without a hitch. While the M 90 costs just under Rs 1.20 lakh, another mobile workstation model, the M 65 with a 15 inch, is slightly cheaper. For the first time, engineers and graphics designers had now the ability to carry their work wherever they go, said Rakesh Mandal, Dell's Penang, Malaysia-based marketing head for laptops in South Asia and Australia-New Zealand. He said the two machines were equipped to handle speeds demanded by the new 802.11n standard. Also unveiled were two new models in Dell's flagship "Latitude'' range of corporate laptops the D 620 and the D 820,both fuelled by Intel dual core chips and offering enhanced connectivity features like Wi-Fi Catcher.
