NALGONDA: The Nalgonda police unravelled the mystery behind the death of 26-year-old Pagadala Sukrutha, mother of three children of Miryalguda, with the arrest of Godati Venkateswarlu alias GVT, her paramour and supervisor of the Country Club, and three others here on Tuesday. Producing GVT at a press conference at the District Police Office, Superintendent of Police Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat said that the prime accused had offered high doses of sugar-coated tablets (Amalog-A) to the victim and later administered insulin injection to kill her to save his marriage, which was on the rocks due to his alleged extramarital affair. "It is not a natural death but a well-planned conspiracy. To get rid of the woman with whom he maintained extramarital relations for a long time, he made her to fall unconscious and got her admitted to Global Hospital in Hyderabad," the SP said. Sukrutha was admitted to the hospital on April 2 and she died in the early hours of April 3 after suffering cardiac arrest twice. The police also arrested a medial practitioner Chakrapu Veeranna, GVT's wife Godati Nagalaxmi and her mother Sakkubai. The police recovered the empty strip of sugar tablets and the insulin injection apart from six Doionil tablets, used to control blood pressure, outside Sukrutha's house. " During the interrogation, he said that he wanted to offer her Doionil tablets to further weaken her body, but he could not do so because she fell unconscious after consuming high dose of sugar tablets," investigating officer Vijay Paul said. The SP said that the police would question doctors of Jyothi Hospital at Miryalaguda where Sukrutha was admitted first, and also the medical team at Global Hospitals. "We had to consult medical experts before coming to a conclusion in this complicated case," he added. The SP complimented Nalgonda Inspector R. Vijay paul, woman police station SI Nirmala and constables -- P. Umapathi Rao, Vanam Venkateswarlu and writer Venkatanarayana -- for solving the mystery behind the sensational case.
