KANNUR: Milad-e-Sherif marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad was celebrated in different parts of the district on Tuesday. Special Nabi day programmes were held in mosques and madrassas in the morning. Children's rallies were organised under the auspices of various Sunni organisations. Hymns in Arabic praising the Prophet were sung in the mosques and madrassas. Superintendent of Police Mathew Polycarp inaugurated the Milad-e-Sharif rally held at Deenul Islam Sabha High School here in the morning.
