KOCHI: Transformers and Electricals Kerala Ltd. (TELK) has logged a record turnover of Rs. 108.8 crores during the last financial year and expects to make a profit of more than Rs. 3 crores, making it the fourth successive year of profit for the public sector company. The company had a turnover of Rs. 94.5 crores during 2004-05. Another year of profit augurs well for the company as it expects to come out of the BIFR regime at the end of the current financial year. Within this year, the company's net worth is expected to be positive even as TELK targets a turnover of around Rs. 130 crores during 2006-07. One of the most important features of TELK's performance during the last financial year was that the company exported products worth Rs. 28 crores. This is a big leap over the previous year during which exports fetched just Rs. 6 crores. Company sources said that it had orders worth around Rs. 150 crores for the current financial year. However, a shortage of working capital had been hindering its progress. Besides, the ban on new appointments since the company was under the BIFR regime was also making its running difficult.
