Escaped prisoner arrested in Chinna Porur

CHENNAI : A prisoner serving life sentence, who escaped from Government Hospital Vellore was nabbed by police at Iyappan Nagar in Chinna Porur early on Tuesday and handed over to Vellore police.

According to police, K.Veera (28) of Pushpa Nagar, Nungambakkam, was arrested in connection with a murder case in 2004 and was sentenced life imprisonment.

He was lodged at the Vellore prison.
