Release DA arrears, says pensioners' forum

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Pensioners' Forum has demanded release of two DA instalments due to Government/retired employees since July 1, 2005, and January 1 this year, constituting 6.59 per cent of basic pay.

P.V. Ramanaiah, president, and A. Krishna Reddy, general secretary, in a representation to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy here on Tuesday, said that the Centre had already released DA to employees. They urged the Government to settle payment of pension and other benefits to employees who retired on April 1, 2004, without linking it to profession tax.

Medical relief

The representation also sought orders on medical relief to retired employees as recommended by the PRC. The association said that Dr. Reddy had promised to immediately release DA.
