Registration for TNPCEE starts today

CHENNAI: The registration process for the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) will start on Wednesday.

Students can register at online centres or through the postal mode, say officials of Anna University, which has been entrusted with the task of conducting TNPCEE 2006.

The examinations will be held on May 18 and 19 for admission to engineering, medical and paramedical, agriculture and veterinary course seats in government and aided colleges and those seats surrendered by unaided institutions to the government pool.

The online registration will be done at more than 50 centres throughout the State, including four in Chennai, till April 28. Candidates should decide the zone where they want to write the examination and register themselves only at the centre pertaining to that zone.

However, candidates in any zone in Chennai can register at the Centre for Examination on Anna University's Guindy campus.

At the online centres, the applications will be processed and candidates photographed. Hall tickets will be issued immediately. The candidates should get a passport size photograph, a photocopy of the higher secondary examination hall ticket and a demand draft for the fee (as per Anna University's April 9 notification).

Candidates unable to come in person can authorise someone to receive the hall ticket.

They can also get the application form and information booklet by post and send it to the University's Centre for Examinations. The form can also be downloaded from the university's website (www.annuniv.edu) and posted to the university.
