HYDERABAD: Three persons were electrocuted in separate incidents in the city on Tuesday. A contract worker of Transco Kranthi Kumar, 31, was electrocuted when he climbed up an electric pole in Bapujinagar to remove wires running over a house under construction. House owner Premraj applied for shifting the electric wires since they came in the way of completion of the building's construction. Kumar switched off the main line that supplied power to the house of Premraj and others. However, since Premraj's neighbour had power connection from another feeder, electricity passed through the wires killing Kumar. Several contract workers of Transco and the victim's family members staged a demonstration at Gandhi Hospital demanding action against officials responsible for the death. Higher-ups assured them to get Rs. 3.5-lakh compensation to Kumar's family members. The victim had four children -- three daughters and a son. His younger sister's marriage was scheduled to be held on Thursday and he was supposed to leave for his hometown on Tuesday evening. In another incident, a technician of South Central Railway, Narayana Swamy, 45, was electrocuted when he came in contact with snapped wires in the Railway General Manager's guesthouse at Chilakalguda. A. Bhikshapathy, 42, a worker, was electrocuted while repairing power connections in the farmhouse he was working at Vanasthalipuram.
