They were also vital in organic farming which was the key to produce wholesome food for all.M. Rama Jois, former Governor of Bihar and Jharkhand, explained the importance and urgency of enacting a law banning cow slaughter and protecting cow progeny.

The Adichunchanagiri Math swamiji supported the programmes aimed at achieving a ban on cow slaughter.

Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, who was blessed by Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati, told presspersons that the Congress was indulging in dividing people on communal lines and conspiring to bring down the coalition government headed by H.D. Kumaraswamy, as it was uncomfortable with the Bharatiya Janata Party coming to power.

Mr. Yediyurappa said that he had visited Bhatkal, which witnessed communal violence in recent days, and the town was now peaceful.

He said that the Bharat Suraksha Yatra taken out by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani and party president Rajnath Singh was attracting people in large numbers throughout its route.
