SALEM: The online registration process for the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) has begun in the Thiagarajar Polytechnic College (TPC) and the Salem Government College of Engineering (GCE) here on Wednesday. Advisor to the TPC A. Dhirajlal handed over the first hall ticket of the Salem Zone - B. Professor from Anna University M. Chandrasekaran supervised the online registration process, a release from Principal of TPC, C. Sivalingam, said. The GCE issued hall tickets to about 50 students on the first day. Students willing to write the TNPCEE in the following examination centres, coming under Salem Zone-A, can register at the GCE: GCE, Vysya College, CSI Polytechnic College, Sri Sarada College of Education, Jairam Arts and Science College and Government Arts College for Women. The TPC will issue hall tickets to students appearing for the examination in the following centres, coming under Salem Zone-B: TPC, Sona College of Technology, Salem Polytechnic College, Rajaji Institute of Technology and V.M.K.V. Engineering College.
Hall tickets
The two online registration centres will process the applications and issue hall tickets immediately. The release said students should bring in following documents to register online: a passport size photograph, a photocopy of the higher secondary examination hall ticket and a demand draft for the fee drawn in favour of the Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University payable at Chennai. Students belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe should bring in the community certificate and the transfer certificate. Those who are applying through post can send the applications to the Secretary, TNPCEE 2006, Anna University, Chennai - 25, the release added. The registration will be on till April 28. The District Employment Office (DEO) will conduct a 21-day free coaching class for the students belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe who are appearing for the TNPCEE. The classes will begin on April 17 and conclude on May 7. Students who have registered for the TNPCEE can contact the Assistant Director of DEO on April 17 in person for admission to the coaching classes. Similarly, the self-study circle functioning on the DEO premises will organise free coaching classes for students belonging to the Most Backward Class and Backward Class and other categories. Interested students can contact the Assistant Director on or before April 17 to register for the classes, a release from the Assistant Director of DEO S. Chandran said.
