Yuki Bhambri in last eight

NEW DELHI: Yuki Bhambri recovered from an indifferent start to beat Rubal Shandilya 1-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the pre-quarterfinals of the Hindustan Times AITA National series under-16 tennis tournament at the Yamuna Sports Complex here on Wednesday.

Yuki will next challenge the top-seeded B. Vikram Reddy of Andhra Pradesh. The talented Delhi lad may be determined to prove a point as he does not figure in the probables list for the Asia-Oceania junior Davis Cup team.

Three of the four, Vikram Reddy, Vijayant Malik, Sriram Balaji and Venkat Iyer will be selected for the Indian team shortly.
