Isolated rain likely in south T.N.

CHENNAI: Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep. The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Konni (Pattanamthitta dt.) 6, Punalur and Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt.) 2 each and Valparai 1. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at one or two places over Kerala and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were appreciably above normal at one or two places over Rayalaseema, coastal Karnataka, above normal at many places over Kerala, at a few places over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh, at one or two places over Telangana, south interior Karnataka, rest coastal Karnataka, below normal at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh and were generally normal over rest of the region. Nizamabad and Ananthapur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 41 degree Celsius in the region.

Forecast (valid until Friday morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over south Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over north Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

Forecast for Chennai city and Neighbourhood valid until Friday morning: Partly cloudy during morning hours and mainly clear skies thereafter. Maximum temperature will be between 35 and 36 degree Celsius.
