Pondicherry
Special Correspondent
Pondicherry : The secretary of the Pondicherry PCC "Bussy" Anandhu, who had been yearning for the Congress ticket for long, had left the Congress and joined the PMC after the constituency was earmarked to the DMK, as per the DPA's decision that all the present legislators of the parties constituting the alliance should be re-fielded in their respective segments without change in the coming polls. And Mr. Anandhu had been fielded in the Bussy segment by the PMC. This has caused disappointment among the PMC functionaries in Bussy, according to the organising secretary of PMC M. Saleem Basha. He said in a release on Wednesday that he and his party colleagues were virtually taken aback at the fielding of a Congress dissident as PMC nominee letting down aspirants like him. He said to mark his protest against this trend he had quit the PMC from all responsibilities and had forwarded his letter of resignation to the founder of the PMC P. Kannan. Saleem Basha said he would contest the poll in Bussy as an Independent candidate.
