Hyderabad: Twenty promising sportspersons from the state have been granted a scholarship of Rs. 2000 per month by the Hyderabad 10K Foundation. The period of he scholarship is for one year and it is aimed at encouraging and motivating the concerned sportspersons to strive for greater heights. The sportspersons are: Y. Prabhavathi, G. Mounika, K. Soujanya, Mrudula, V. Lavanya, M. Venkatesh and E. Gopi (athletics), Sai Dikshith and Maradona (basketball), K. Srinivas and Sivarama Krishna Raju (volleyball), Sai Kiran, Harish Kumar and Sharat Kumar (hockey), Ajay Kumar, Sumeet Reddy and Prashanth Reddy (badminton), Swathi Sharma, C.M. Sai Prasad and Jagruthi Sharma (swimming).
Adidas football tournament
The first leg of the Adidas+ Challenge football tournament will be conducted in Hyderabad from April 16. The tournament will be conducted in seven cities in India for under 16 boys. The winners of each centre will play in the all-India finals in Kolkata from May 28. A team will also be selected to represent India in the Adidas+ Challenge global final, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, from July 1 to 4. Chess coaching at BTHS
The Brahmam Talent High School will organise summer coaching camps in chess at the school premises at Madhuranagar from April 15 to May 30. Children may chose their timings between 8 a.m to 12 p.m. Those interested may register at the school premises. Arshad Ayub academy's camp
The Arshad Ayub Cricket Academy will conduct its summer coaching camp from April 13 to June 10. The camp will be for players between six to 21 years of age. Former Test cricketer Arshad Ayub and 12 others coaches will impart training. The timings are 6 a.m. to 8 a.m and 4-30 p.m to 6-30 p.m for six days every week. Methodist Group's camp
The Methodist Group of Institutions will conduct a two-month summer cricket coaching camp for boys in under 12, 15, 17, 10 and 22 age groups from April 15 to June 10. Training will be held in morning and evening sessions at the Methodist Coaching Foundation, Abids Road, Hyderabad. Teams will be selected to take part in HCA tournaments ans also for a tour to Kiran More Academy in Baroda. Boston Cup tournament
The Boston Mission High School in association with the Sports Coaching Foundation (Masab Tank), will conduct the Boston Cup day-night cricket tournament for under 13 and 17 year age groups from May 1. Further details may be obtained from Shaker Ahmed (Ph 24474037 or 92463 62299).
MLJ Academy's camp
The M.L. Jaisimha Cricket 365 Academy will conduct a two-month long camp from April 15 onwards. The coaching will be held in six sessions from 6 a.m to 10 p.m and the trainees can join any session. The indoor academy is equipped with central air conditioning. Selected teams will be sent for tournaments to Goa, Ananthaur and Sri Lanka.
