DHARMABAD (NANDED DT.): Tension prevailed for a brief period on the road leading to Babli village here on Wednesday morning when Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders led by G. Ganga Reddy, MLA (Dichpally), tried to proceed to the Babli project site.

The MLA, TRS leaders -- J. Bapu Reddy, Erra Satyanaryana, Sudarshan Rao -- and a number of party activists, who arrived here in ten vehicles from Nizamabad district headquarters, were stopped by the Maharashtra police and activists of Babli Bandhara Samithi.

The police blocked the way. Soon the BBS workers descended on the scene and picked up a heated argument with the TRS leaders and raised slogans against Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Andhra Pradesh.

This provoked the TRS leaders who shouted slogans of "Jai Telangana", "Jai Jai Telangana". The BBS workers turned aggressive and surged towards the TRS activists.

Sources, meanwhile, said construction of Babli project had been continuing and was not stopped even for a single day in the recent period.
