Knowledge connectivity should be used to enhance wage structure and living standards of poor handloom weavers. Khadi and handloom sectors needed information flow, design support, training productivity and appropriate value additions for their survival in the highly competitive global market, said. T. Karunakaran, Vice-Chancellor, Gandhigram Rural Institute, while addressing a two-day regional seminar on `Management of textiles industries in the changing global scenario,' held in Gandhigram recently. The Joint Director of Handlooms, L. Subramanian, said there was an impressive growth in spinning and garment sectors.
