Pastoral council flays LDF, UDF

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Latin Archdiocesan Pastoral Council has taken strong exception to the neglect of the Latin Catholic community by both the UDF and the LDF when picking the candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram West constituency where the community has a strong presence.

In a resolution, adopted by the Council at its meeting here, said the laity in the Thiruvananthapuram Archdiocese would be free to take whatever stand they deemed fit in the constituency. The Council also decided to ensure the support of the community for the UDF candidate George Mercier in the Kovalam constituency, Pastoral Council secretary Victor Edison Fernandes said in a statement.
