THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Government on Wednesday released software that will be of assistance to employees and teachers in exercising their options under the terms of pay revision. The software `Service Consultant,' developed by the Research Officer of the Economic and Statistics Department Anirudhan Nilamel suggests the date from which an employee should opt for pay revision to get the maximum benefits. All that is needed is an input of date of birth and some service details such as date of entry into service, designation and current scale of pay. The computer will conduct at least five types of checks to determine the most beneficial option. The user will get the date of option, option form and fixation statement as output. This would help the employees avoid losses while preferring their options, an official release said. Mr. Anirudhan had earlier developed software for calculating DA arrears. It helped to determine the arrears soon after the announcement of additional DA instalments. It takes, even a person well-versed in rules of pay revision, hours to do the calculations needed for arriving at the most beneficial option for an employee. Service Consultant will save this time as it can give an output in 30 seconds. Director of Public Relations K. C. Venu released the software by handing over a copy to Deputy Director Sudhamani. It will be available for free download from the official Website of the Government.
