MYSORE: Suttur seer Sri Shivaratrideshikendra Swamiji has condoled the death of Rajkumar and said the world of art has lost an outstanding artiste, who dedicated his life to the cause of art and culture. Reacting to Dr. Rajkumar's death, the swamiji said the veteran actor had dedicated himself to the cause of Kannada. He never lived in a glasshouse but stepped out to take part in social movements to uphold the cause of Kannada, he added. The swamiji described Dr. Rajkumar as a "child-like personality" who remained non-controversial. "He was closely associated with the Suttur Math and the senior pontiff, Sri Shivaratri Rajendra Swamiji, had bestowed the title `Bhaktikalaratna' on him way back in the Seventies," Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji said in a press release. "His death has created a void that is difficult to fill," he added.
