Rain leads to blackout

HYDERABAD: There was a short respite from the sweltering heat, when a thundershowers lashed the twin cities on Wednesday night but the short spell of rain led to blackouts in many areas, making people to sweat it out.

The Computerised Central Complaint Cell was of no use as the number was continuously engaged. "After a couple of rings, the staff were disconnecting the lines," a customer complained.

Kukatpally, Nampally, Alwal, Begumpet, Padmaraonagar and a large parts of the city were affected by power cuts.
