Rupee recovers against dollar

MUMBAI: The rupee on Thursday recovered marginally against the U.S. dollar on some dollar selling after the world crude oil prices fell below the $70 a barrel level.

Some dealers said there was a possibility of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) intervention. In volatile trading at the interbank foreign exchange market here, the Indian unit started with an overnight weakness at 45.26/28 a dollar, but later recovered part of the early losses on lack of dollar demand and after touching a high of 45.12, closed at 45.17/19, marginally higher than the previous level of 45.19/20. — PTI
