Nine city students of TIME successful

Nine candidates of TIME, Vizag Centre, have made it to the Indian Institutes of Management. The candidates are: Maddula Theju, Pant Puneet, G. Prabhakara Rao, K. Muralikrishna, K.S.R. Mahesh, N. Mohanty, Mukhesh Patnaik, Kholi Kayideni and Y.B. Teja, according to institute's director J.V. Murthy.

Two other students Mukesh Patnaik and Karpurapu Deepika have been selected for admission to XLRI (Jamshedpur) and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), New Delhi.

Fishing ban from April 15

The Fisheries Department has imposed a ban on fishing by trawlers, minitrawlers and powered boats in the sea along the Andhra Coast from April 15 to May 31. The ban, imposed according to GORT no. 171 dated April 6, is aimed at protecting marine life and conserving fish.

According to Fisheries Assistant Director M.A. Yakub Basha, the restriction does not apply to traditional boats without engines. He said patrolling boats of the department would take action against vessels violating the order.
