Parvathamma could not get a last glimpse

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Because of the huge crowds at the Kanteerava studios' where people had come to have a last glimpse of matinee idol Rajkumar, Parvathamma Rajkumar lost the chance to see her husband's body before it was buried.

There was chaos outside the studios. "Because of the chaos, I could not take a look at my husband for the last time," an emotional Parvathamma told a private news channel. But Mrs. Rajkumar recovered soon and spoke about her husband's wish. "I will inform the Government about what he had in mind for the betterment of Kannada language and filmdom," she said.

Eyes transplanted

Doctors at the Narayana Nethralaya transplanted Dr. Rajkumar's eyes on to a 15-year-old boy and a 55-year-old man.

"The operations were conducted at 3 p.m. today," Bhujang Shetty, Medical Director of Narayana Nethralaya, said.

The veteran actor had pledged his eyes a few years ago.
