Summer is when children run away from home

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: With schools closing and the holiday season here, children are off to summer camps or for vacations. But it is a time when the number of children who run away from home goes up.

With time to kill and with no school to keep them occupied, there is an increase in the cases of children running away from their home during vacation. According to BOSCO Mane Director Fr. P.S. George, the number of children leaving home is on the rise. During the holiday season, BOSCO reports an average of 20 children a day who run away from home for various reasons.

Those who spot a missing child or a child roaming the streets may call 1098.
