Forex reserves up $2.587 b at $154.2 b
MUMBAI:
India's foreign exchange reserves increased by $2.587 billion to $154.209 billion during the week ended April 7 from $151.622 billion during the week ended March 31.
The reserves had increased by $2.96 billion during the week ended March 31 as compared to a week ago period.
Foreign currency assets increased by $2.584 billion to $147.692 billion during the week ended April 7, according to figures released by the Reserve Bank of India.
Foreign currency assets in dollars include the effect of revaluation of non-U.S. currencies such as Euro, British pound sterling, and Japanese yen held in reserves.
Reserve position in the IMF increased by $4 million to $759 million.
Gold reserves as well as SDRs remained static at $5.755 billion and $3 million respectively, the release added. PTI
