Guiding students in choice of institutes

Staff Reporter

Over 130 institutions, including 50 foreign ones, participating in Education Worldwide India fair

NEW DELHI: In an increasingly competitive world, admission to a good educational institute is a step towards ensuring a satisfying career. With several new educational institutions and courses coming up, inaccurate or inadequate information can hurt a student's chances of finding an institute suited to his or her needs. In such a scenario, appropriate guidance is required to assist students in the choice of institutes.

Recognising this need, Global Events and Expositions is organising the 38th India International Education and Career Fair titled "Education Worldwide India" here at Pragati Maidan beginning Saturday. The two-day exhibition is designed to deliver complete information and solutions so that students can better explore the options available to them in India and abroad. It gives students the opportunity to directly interact with a large number of institutes under one roof.

Over 130 institutions, including 50 foreign ones, are participating in the fair. Some of the Indian participants are DOEACC Society, Garden City College, India Retail School, Ansal Institute of Technology, Rai Foundation College, Air Hostess Training Centre, and the Institute of Health Management Research.

The list of participating foreign institutes includes All Saints University (United States); Boston College (United Kingdom); University of Windsor (Canada); Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece); Vancouver Film School (Canada); Cyprus International Institute of Management (Cyprus); Johnson and Wales University (United States); Nuova Academia Di Belle Arti Milano (Italy); Oxford Business College (United Kingdom); Open University (Australia); The Washington Centre (United States) and The University of Hong Kong among others.

Apart from this, educational options in more that 15 countries are being offered at the exhibition by consultants like the United States Education Foundation, Global Reach and Ednet Consultants. Barents Education Network from New York is offering courses in 13 universities, colleges and polytechnics in Finland, Norway, Russia and Sweden. A delegation of seven universities from Thailand will participate under the banner of the Department of Education Promotion. The fair will also see participation by the Embassy of Belgium, with a representative from the Ministry of Education talking about the various courses on offer.

A special attraction of the fair will be a booth set up by the Indian Air Force.
