Of friendship, attraction and adolescent love

Premante Inthe (Telugu)

Cast: Navadeep, Poonam Bazwa, Rupali

Director: B.V. Ramana

Sravanthi Ravikishore has canned yet another film on love in which he tries to explain how the youth are getting confused between friendship (Sneham), liking (Ishtam) and love (Prema). This film based on a triangular love story traverses on these lines and though a little nagging, it is a `feel good cinema.'

Virendranath aka Viru (Navadeep) is the second son of Narasimha Rao (Sarathbabu), a top builder of Hyderabad. Viru falls in love with Elizabeth @ Liji (Rupali). Though he befriends her for two years, he fails to reveal his love towards her. Meanwhile, Narasimha Rao wants his son married to Pavani (Poonam Bazwa), niece of Govardhana Rao (Naresh), a hen-pecked husband of Jayasri (Aiswarya). Though not interested, Viru goes to see Pavani along with his family, where Pavani expresses her views openly and Viru tells her that he is in love with Liji.

Pavani accompanies him to a tour to Vizag and they both talk openly and reveal their secrets, strengths and weaknesses to each other. Later, Liji joins them on the tour. On their return, Liji comes to know about Viru's love towards her and she accepts it.

However, Narasimha Rao is against the alliance as their religions are different. After a few twists, he accepts their alliance but Viru realises that he is in love with Pavani and not Lijji and finds himself in a state of confusion. The remaining part of the film deals with whether Viru will marry Liji or Pavani?

It is like a tailor-made role for Navadeep and Poonam, who paired up in `Modati Cinema.' Poonam looks gorgeous and Rupali plays the second fiddle.

All the other characters, including Sarathbabu, Naresh, Aiswarya, Jackie, Surya, Brahmaji, Satya Krishnan, Jyothi and others, are well placed. The comedy track between Dharmavarapu, Venumadhav and Ali clicks well and Koti has belted some good tunes to all the songs. Though the theme is good the slow pace of the film is a dampener.
