Tributes paid to Ambedkar

Pondicherry: Representatives of various political parties, voluntary organisations and SC and ST Employees Associations of Central and State government departments garlanded the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth anniversary here on Friday.

The Secretary to Pondicherry Administration A Anbarasu and the Director of Information and Publicity S. Chandrasekaran paid floral tributes. Agriculture Minister A Namassivayam, the AICC Secretary P. Sudhakar Reddy, the convenor of the DMK R V Janakiraman, the AIADMK secretary A Anbalagan and the State unit leader of the BJP R Kesavalu were among those who paid tributes.
