Essence of Orissa captured on canvas
Staff Reporter
Bangalore:
Artist Manas Ranjan Parida is holding show an exhibition of paintings in watercolours, "Can you see beyond" at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat from April 16 to 22.
An alumnus of the B.K. College of Arts and Crafts (Bhubhaneshwar), Mr. Parida works in an e-learning firm in Chennai as a 2-D animator. When he is not busy with the mouse and storyboards, he takes to art.
His paintings are inspired by rustic and royal charm, evident from the abundance of dilapidated royal palaces, gateways, villages and street scenes. He has captured scenes from the famous Lingara Temple, Muktesawar Temple, and the royal gateways that stand testimony to the architectural style of the royal dynasties that once ruled the State.
This is his first exhibition in Bangalore.
