Nine file nominations

MADURAI : Nine candidates, including the sitting MLA from Sedapatti Assembly constituency, C. Durairaj, filed their nominations in Madurai district on Saturday. Another All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate for Usilampatti, I. Mahendran, also filed his papers. Two dummy candidates, O. Pitcharaj and Anbu K. C. Mayan, for the two candidates respectively, filed their nominations.

Others who filed nominations were T. Otcha Thevar of All India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam and V. Oorkavalan (dummy candidate), K. Kandasamy, (Independent), all for Tirupparankundram Assembly constituency and N. Subbiah of All India Forward Bloc and his dummy candidate N. Velmurugan for Madurai East.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Madurai (North) tahsildar said that voters of Samayanallur, who wished to carry out corrections in their EPIC or get new EPIC should submit Forms 002 and 003, along with Rs. 15, to officials at the EPIC centre in the Corporation Middle School near Alamaram Bus Stop in Anna Nagar.

Virudhunagar

Four candidates, including the sitting Congress MLA from Virudhunagar, S. Damodaran, filed their nominations in the district on Saturday.

The AIADMK candidate for Sattur, G. Chokkeswaran, and a dummy candidate, G. Muthuraj, filed their papers. The AIFB candidate, T. Manikandan, filed his nomination for the Sivakasi constituency.
