The camp began with M.V. Devan giving Vishu kaineetam to the participants on Friday evening. This was followed by a lecture-demonstration by Mr. Devan, who had played a significant role in the art history of the region. Mr. Devan made four paintings at the camp.

The talk was this month's edition of `One artist, One work' being held at the Orthic Creative Centre. The programmes on poet Edassery Govindan Nair and filmmaker G. Aravindan were held in previous months and this edition was on Ravi Varma.
