Twin blasts

Friday's twin blasts in New Delhi's Jama Masjid were obviously aimed at disturbing peace, and communal and sectarian harmony. The Government must take a lesson from the spate of bomb blasts at regular intervals, thanks to Pakistan-based and aided terrorists. Its peace overtures to the hostile neighbour give the impression that it is a weak country.

K.G. Acharya,
Mumbai

The blasts were another attack on secularism. I salute the people of Delhi, particularly the Muslim community, who maintained calm in trying circumstances.

Cajetan Peter D'Souza,
Mumbai

Successive blasts, first in the Sankatmochan temple of Varanasi and now in the Jama Masjid, prove that terrorists do not belong to any religion. A mosque, temple, church, educational institution — they all mean the same thing to terrorists who are bent on destroying human values.

Anjum Husain,
Aligarh, U.P.

It is time for the people of India to join hands to fight terrorism. Terrorists have no religion.

Hina Khan,
New Delhi

Economic growth serves no purpose when civilians cannot enjoy its fruits in peace and happiness. Terrorists and religious fanatics hold lives to ransom and disturb peace. How far is the Government justified in maintaining goodwill gestures and exchange of people across borders? It is obvious that hundreds of terrorists are getting free access to cross borders to perpetrate such heinous crimes.

S. Padmanaabhan,
Chennai
