Janata Party to challenge Sonia's nomination

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Sunday said his party would challenge the nomination of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi at the scrutiny stage itself if she claimed that she was educated in the University of Cambridge.

Dr. Swamy told presspersons here that Ms. Gandhi was expected to file her nomination on Monday for the Rae Bareli parliamentary byelection. "If she commits the same perjury as in 2004, when she falsely claimed to have been educated in the University of Cambridge, then the Janata Party will challenge her nomination at the scrutiny stage on April 21," he said.
