Hassan brushes aside Vellapally's threats

Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC media cell convener M.M. Hassan on Sunday dismissed SNDP general secretary Vellapally Natesan's threat that his organisation would support the LDF in the Assembly elections.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Hassan said that the UDF had by and large addressed all issues affecting various social groups. He denied the allegation that the UDF had neglected certain groups. He said that he did not think Mr. Natesan's writ would fully run among the members of the Ezhava community.

Mr. Hassan also demanded a probe into the allegations against three CPI(M) leaders, two of whom were candidates in the election, for their alleged role in transferring classified maps to the Dutch Government without the prior approval of the Defence Department and the Survey of India.

He said that the Central intelligence agencies had confirmed that classified maps of the Centre for Earth Science Studies and the Land Use Board had been handed over to the Dutch Governemnt.
