Lightning claims 10 lives across A.P.

HYDERABAD: Ten persons, including four women, were killed in four districts in Andhra Pradesh when they were hit by lightning on Sunday. The dead include three persons each in Medak, Nalgonda and Srikakulam districts and a woman in Mahabubnagar, according to reports reaching the State headquarters. In Khazipalli of Medak mandal, Kistaiah was killed while in Kandi, Vittal and Nagamani lost their lives in the evening. Heavy rain and hailstorms lashed Sangareddy mandal, particularly Indrakaran and Cheryal areas. Most areas were in darkness as power supply was disrupted. In Nalgonda, two women and a young man died and four others were injured. Vallala Nagamma (42) and her son Shankar (23) died on the spot, as they took cover under a tree at Tirumalagiri, in Halia mandal. .
