Etawah: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Sunday sought to shift the blame for the prevailing power crisis in the State to the Centre saying that it had created obstacles in the way of installation of the Reliance power project at Dadri in Ghaziabad. "The Reliance project has been delayed owing to the hurdles created by the Union Government," Yadav said addressing a public meeting here. "The Centre is not serious in resolving the power crisis in the state," Yadav alleged adding that the State Government-owned Unchahar and Tanda thermal power plants were also taken away by the Centre against realisation of accumulated power dues. He said that the Government had set up several power projects in the hill areas of the undivided Uttar Pradesh but now they were in Uttaranachal, which had refused to provide power to the State. Mr. Yadav said that the forthcoming Assembly elections in the State would be crucial and exhorted the people to return the Samajwadi Party with a thumping majority. -- PTI
