Hyderabad: Six months from now, phase III layout of NGOs' Colony at Vanasthalipuram will have a beautiful landscape garden on a five-acre spread. It will have shrubbery entry banquet garden, joggers' pathway, swimming pool, children's play area and many other attractions. Minister for Mines and Geology P. Sabitha Reddy, who laid the foundation stone for the park on Sunday, wanted it to be ready by the year-end. She welcomed the decision of HUDA Chairman D. Sudheer Reddy to name the park after Rajiv Gandhi.
Call for sports facilities
The Minister laid foundation stones for two more parks at the phase I and phase II of the colony. She asked HUDA to create sport facilities here and name one of the parks after a sports personality. Ms. Sabitha Reddy congratulated HUDA for taking up several prestigious projects such as the Outer Ring Road and express highway. The parks being developed by HUDA at Vanastalipuram at a cost of Rs. 20 crores would be a boon for residents, she noted. Vacant lands always faced the threat of being encroached, she said and congratulated colony people for safeguarding the land earmarked for park development. Mr. Sudheer Reddy said that five parks were being developed in Vanasthalipuram to create the much-needed lung space. Work on all the parks would commence soon and they would be ready by Deepavali.
Flyover at Langar Houz
He said HUDA would take up construction of a flyover at Langar Houz soon. Low-level causeways were proposed at Moosarambagh and Amberpet. Referring to Autongar, Mr. Reddy said there was no dumping of garbage now. This 47-acre land could be developed into a beautiful park, he said. Referring to the demand made by Malakpet MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy for sorting out the surplus land issue in survey numbers 57, 58, 59 of Karmanghat, the Minister asked the HUDA and revenue authorities to coordinate between themselves. Nalgonda MP Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy said several colonies in L.B. Nagar Municipality were not getting Krishna water as they were supposed to bear 50 per cent of the cost towards the distributor lines. He wanted HUDA to come to the rescue of people who were forced to consume fluoride water. HUDA Vice-Chairman Jayesh Ranjan, however, clarified that it was not possible for HUDA to supply water. But it could extend loan to L.B. Nagar Municipality for laying the distributor lines.
