Steps to cut Monsanto royalty sought

HYDERABAD: A round table convened by the Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sangham has sought steps by the Government to withdraw the additional collection of Rs.1,250 in the name of royalty on Bt cotton seed by Monsanto. Sangham president K. Ramakrishna, former MLA, in a press release said the meeting expressed the view that the amount being collected was eight times more than the rate charged by the company in the US.
