HYDERABAD: Children can be good educators! And driving this point home, Andhra Pradesh Anti-Faction Forum (APFF) intends to use them to create awareness among their parents who abet factions -- like drivers, servants and leaders -- in the interest of their future. Educating these persons is among steps contemplated by the forum which is organising a convention here on June 4. Some 600 delegates from Rayalaseema districts, the hotbed of factionism, are to attend the convention and discuss related issues.
VVIP invitees
Also among invitees are Rahul Gandhi, MP, Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, film actor Chiranjeevi, Gandhians and freedom fighters. Forum's general secretary T.V. Rao said the convention would evolve measures to be initiated by Government to erase the menace and make people's lives that much better to live. The deliberations will include strategies on the role of NGOs and media as facilitators to control factionism, inculcation of non-violence and moral values among students from primary school upwards, having coordination committees in villages to ensure cooperation among factionists resulting in friendship and rural development.
`Maitri' meets
Other points include improving economic status of factionists, sports and games among them, `maitri' meetings in coordination with police and educative campaign about the ill-effects of alcoholism. Malladi Subbamma, forum's honorary president, Malakonda Reddy, educationist, Karunakar, secretary, Gangadhar Reddy, Rajendra, G. Syamsunder and Lavanya attended the meeting of the forum.
